Common questions

What does the free trial include?

One complete check-in. Within it you can send as many text messages as you like, plus 90 seconds of voice conversation. The six-part diary itself stays locked until you subscribe. After that day, starting a new check-in requires a subscription.

What do the 5 free days from an invite code include?

Everything a paid subscription includes, with no extra limits — daily check-ins, generous voice time, and the full diary.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling there stops future renewals; you keep access until the current period ends.

I paid on another device and Mnema doesn't know

Open the subscribe screen and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Settings → Privacy → Delete account. This erases your account and everything on our servers, and also removes your diary entries from this device and from your iCloud.

Please use that button rather than just deleting the app. Deleting the app leaves your entries in your own iCloud, and they will sync back if you reinstall.

Why doesn't the companion remember what I told it?

Long-term memory has to be switched on. You're asked about it when you first set up the app, and you can change it any time in Settings → Privacy → Let the AI remember me. With it off, check-ins and diary entries work normally, but each conversation starts fresh.

Which language does it reply in?

Whichever you picked in the app — it stays in that language regardless of what language you write or speak in. You can switch it on the sign-in screen or in Settings.

A note on what Mnema is

Mnema is a journaling companion. It is not therapy, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose or treat anything. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country.
